Vinai Prakash, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and American Board in Multiple Specialities in Podiatry, in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Prakash is proud to provide complete podiatric care to people of all ages living in and around Kenmore, Washington, and King County.
Dr. Prakash was born and raised in Shoreline, Washington. He began his professional pursuits at the University of Washington in Seattle, earning his undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, Dr. Prakash enrolled at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio.
Dr. Prakash excelled at Kent State, graduating with honors. During his time at podiatry school, Dr. Prakash also received the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities Award and was an active member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Prakash completed residency training at St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx, New York. The program focused on the surgical management of lower extremity trauma, wound care, and limb-salvage procedures.
Under the mentorship of several renowned orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Prakash learned how to treat complex issues affecting the feet and ankles. Eventually, he became chief resident, overseeing 18 students.
After residency training, Dr. Prakash returned to Washington and began his career in podiatric medicine. Currently, he holds privileges at several hospitals in the Seattle metropolitan area.
When Dr. Prakash isn’t meeting with patients or developing custom care plans, he’s active in the community. Dr. Prakash provides podiatry care to low-income patients at Lahai Health/Puget Sound Christian Clinic and serves as a clinical director with the Special Olympics.
